Well we ended up having a fabulous Thanksgiving...the girls are getting older now and my tradition of watching the Macy's parade on channel 4 (as opposed to going to it) is finally becoming interesting to them..mostly this year due to Miley Cyrus and the Rockettes. But they are finally making the connection between NYC on tv and the NYC we go to on the train. We had some cousins over who we have not seen in too long, and it was so funny seeing my girls with my little cousins' little girl. First because I remember my cousin at that exact age, and then because it is so odd to see my "baby" look like a grown up girl with her tiny cousin. We are so used to her being the little one. Of course the pictures seem to look like she is mauling her, but they had such fun playing together. Just another stop and think moment that time flies by! Interesting topics flowed around the table, and all agreed it was an awesome day!

Thanksgiving Eve
Is the night before Thanksgiving stressful for everyone or is it just us? We always host Turkey Day so maybe that is the problem, but I cannot believe the amount of food and work that is involved. I am quite sure we always overdo it- two potato sides, two veggies, the big bird, stuffing, appetizers...on and on and on... by 2 pm on Thursday, I am usually looking to go hide in my room and crash for a few minutes of peace. I always feel like in the rush to prepare and execute these celebrations I have to remind myself to stop and enjoy what it is all about...being together and enjoying the day. It is hard to do that when it is 10 pm the night before and you are facing all that work. I will try hard tomorrow to savor the moment. I know the day will fly by before I can even catch my breath, and it will be time to load the dishwasher and clean the mess. I will try this year!

Radio City Music Hall
This weekend we had tickets for the Christmas Show at Radio City...I had never been and neither had the girls. The tickets were birthday gifts from Grandpa, and we have all been looking forward to this since the summer. Despite the frosty weather Friday night, and the horrific traffic that set both Al and I off, we had an amazing time. Our seats were the seventh row from the stage and the girls were blown away by the costumes, 3D, Santa flying, the snow, and the live Nativity (live camels!!!). There is nothing like going to this show with children- to see their faces light up with the dancing, the costumes- the whole beauty of the production.... the wonder of it all. It was a great way to start the Christmas excitement....the only thing is we have not gotten through Thanksgiving yet!!

OK- I am not at all sure how this is going to work out, and I am not even sure what to say, but I am going to attempt to spend my time working on developing this blog instead of wasting it on Facebook. I think I am too old for the Facebook generation anyway. My college friend encouraged me to start a Blog and I think I will look around at other Blogs to see what I am supposed to say. In the meantime I should be preparing my house for Thanksgiving, but who wants to do that? My girls will destroy any attempts to clean with their "clutter" in a matter of seconds anyway. More later- I have to do some Blogging research!
